Dr. J.K. Mohanty, Chairman & Managing Director of Swosti Group, participated as a panelist in Session 4: “The Future of Odisha Tourism: Innovation, Sustainability & Inclusive Development” at the 2nd Blue Economy Conclave 2026, organized by the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) at Swosti Premium, Bhubaneswar.
During the discussion, he emphasized the growing importance of eco-tourism and rural tourism as catalysts for sustainable and inclusive development. He highlighted that while Goa is renowned for its beaches, Kerala for its backwaters, and Rajasthan for its deserts, Odisha is uniquely blessed with all these experiences and more. From pristine beaches and the majestic Chilika Lake to lush forests, wildlife sanctuaries, scenic hills, rich tribal heritage, ancient temples, and vibrant culture, Odisha offers an unmatched diversity of tourism experiences within a single destination.
He stressed that by promoting responsible tourism, preserving natural and cultural heritage, and empowering local communities, Odisha has the potential to emerge as one of India’s most sought-after sustainable tourism destinations.
