Governor Ganeshi Lal conferred the Degree of Doctor of Letters (Honoris Causa) on Swosti Group CMD and Hotel & Restaurant Association of Odisha (HRAO) chairman JK Mohanty at the KIIT University convocation on Saturday in recognition of his outstanding contributions to growth of tourism industry in Odisha.
Since last 42 years Mohanty has brought excellence in the Odisha hospitality and tourism sectors and generated thousands of jobs directly and indirectly.
As HRAO chairman and Eastern Region of Indian Association of Tour Operators chairman, he has strived hard to boost tourism in the State and the Country’s eastern region. “I feel a great sense of fulfilment and gratitude to Lord Jagannath, blessings of my parents, family members, friends and well-wishers and to Dr. Achyuta Samanta for recognizing my contribution in the field of tourism,” Mohanty said.
